Veterans Day Ceremony To Be Held At

San Dimas HEROES (Helping Establish a Remembrance Of Every Serviceperson)
will be holding a ceremony honoring our cities Veterans on Wednesday, November 11th, 2015 at Freedom Park in San Dimas. Freedom Park is located on the north/west corner of San Dimas Ave and Commercial St. The activities will start at 4PM and will include The Greater Los Angeles Girl Scout Color Guard and Flag Corps as the official Color Guard for the day's event. All the military flags will be raised along with the US flag. The names of 28 veterans will be added to the veterans wall and those individuals will be honored and their names read as part of the ceremony.

San Dimas residents, Sgt Kenneth Fuqua of the United States Marine Corps and SSgt Alyssa Gomez, United States Air Force will be guest speakers at the ceremony. Gomez will also be singing our National Anthem. Sgt Fuqua is currently stationed at 29 Palms with the 3rd Bn 11th Marine Division as a Fire Direction Controller. SSgt Gomez was recently discharged after 8½ years and was the 9th female in history to become a United States Military Sniper.
